"Don't forget to rub and yawn. "What part of your topic could you be responsible for? All right. Put it above you. OK. "What part of your topic would you rather not be responsible for? Fair enough. Put it below you. OK. "What part of your topic could you be responsible for? Thank you. Put it to the right of you. Good. "What part of your topic would you rather not be responsible for? Fair enough. Put it to the left of you. OK. "What part of your topic could you be responsible for? All right. Put it in front of you. Thank you. "What part of your topic would you rather not be responsible for? OK. Put it behind you. Thank you."

With this responsibility element in particular, you will probably want to make good use of your pause button so that you have a chance to answer the questions properly and not get cut off too soon by the acknowledgement. The first command of each pair is to examine the overall idea of your topic as it seems to you now (the people; the places; the events; the efforts, emotions and thoughts--yours and others) and find some part of it that you could be responsible for. That means either (1) an aspect of your topic in the past that you are willing to acknowledge you were the cause of, or (2) some aspect of your topic that you are willing to be at cause over now or for the future, that you are willing to control and care for. The other command of each pair, the rather not be responsible for means find either (1) an aspect of your topic in the past that you are NOT willing to acknowledge you were the cause of, or (2) some aspect of your topic that you are NOT willing to be at cause over now or for the future, that you are NOT willing to control and care for. Do not simply settle for "All of it" at the outset, but find a specific part. The reason for doing this is that it sometimes help to discharge the topic more easily when you have been able to examine how responsibility applies or does not applies. |
