Full Introduction to Rub&Yawn #01

MP3 AUDIO:

"RUB&YAWN is a special procedure that uses natural body mechanisms to discharge harmful energy and at the same time draw in fresh energy to replace the energy you just got rid of.

"These are life-changing sessions, where you get to address and change parts of your mind. These are not simply articles, that you read and maybe think about for a while. They are like exercise videos for the mind, where the benefit comes from following the instructions and doing the exercising, not lying back on the couch and having a beer while being entertained.

"The sessions work best when you are not being distracted, are well-rested, well-fed, and not under the influence of drugs or alcohol. If you are significantly distracted or tired or hungry or under the influence they won't work at all.

"In doing this procedure, you want to encourage yawns--don't suppress them. YAWNS DISCHARGE STRESS. At the same time, draw in fresh energy by stretching; or rubbing your hands together; rub your chest or back; rub your arms and legs; take your shoes off and rub your feet on the carpet. Sometimes it's tricky to START the yawns; it's easier to keep them going once you've started yawning.

"Your TOPIC is some aspect of your life. Just one aspect, not your whole life. It might be a person you have trouble with; work hassles; maybe things that happened in childhood; perhaps a loss--like someone died or you got dumped; maybe some traumatic event, like a car accident. It's best to go with what FIRST flashes into your mind, rather than try to second-guess it and pick something else. For the first session or sessions, your topic will usually be something long-term that has been bugging you on and off for years and years. Even if you think nothing can be done about this particular topic, use it. The fact that it came to mind will mean it is ripe for picking, so to speak. Something can be done about it. There is no promise it will all be fixed in one session, but you might be surprised at the changes possible with this new procedure.

"In these sessions, you will basically be putting attention on different aspects of your topic--the people, places, events, emotions, thoughts and so on--while continuing to RUB and YAWN. The yawning will discharge harmful energy from whatever your attention is on, and the rubbing will ensure that the energy lost will get replaced with fresh energy. It is important to do both. If you don't get any discharge occurring at all, no yawns, no sighs, no sobs, no heavy stuff at all, then you are pretty much wasting your time. Merely looking at memories and thoughts won't achieve anything. You need to re-experience the events and the heavy stuff to the extent needed to produce physical discharges that would be very visible to anyone watching. And secondly, if you are discharging this stagnant energy and not doing the rub part of the procedure, you will rapidly deplete your store of energy and feel sort of weak and run down and not want to continue. Vigorous continuous rubbing will replenish the energy and you should feel fine. If it ever happens that you've yawned out more than you've taken in, just suppress the yawns for some minutes while you continue to rub until you've got your strength back. If you have really let yourself get run down energy-wise, it can take a whole thirty minutes of vigorous rubbing and stretching to get back to feeling on top of things. Really. This is not a joke.

"There are different procedures. The simplest is Reach and Withdraw, where you put your attention on your topic, then take your attention off it, then put your attention onto it, and so on. While doing the whole stretch or rub thing.

"Some other procedures are variations on a theme of taking your topic and mentally putting it above you, above your head; then below you, below your feet; then to your right and left and front and back. It IS possible to do this, to sort of mentally project your view of it out of your head in different directions. It's OK if you can't move the whole topic, the whole idea, all at once. Sometimes it's too heavy. Just move part of it, even a small part, a molecule, an electron, that will work. If a person, move some eyeballs or fingers. Or even sort of hold it all still and mentally back away from it. The whole point is for YOU to control the idea, even a very small amount, instead of allowing IT to control YOU.

"As long as you have been able to get the discharges started, the yawns and so on, your view of the topic will change as you keep doing the proceudre. Some aspect did seem important, then got less important as it was discharged. And now some other aspect will seem important. Maybe even an earlier event with similar feelings will come up. That's fine, just go with what naturally appears.

"One useful feature of most mp3 players is a pause button. You can simply stop the playback and restart it a little bit later without a problem. With these recorded audios, there will be a command such as "Put your topic above you", then after a few seconds there will be an acknowledgement of you having mentally put your topic above you, maybe a "Thank you". The few seconds is an average time. Maybe you are still struggling to do it, or are yawning, and the "Thank you" is coming too soon. In this case, use your pause button, spend the extra five or ten seconds you need to fully do what has been asked, then click back to play and the acknowledgement will be appropriate.

"At some point your topic will be discharged, and you won't be able to get more yawns off. You should feel very calm and peaceful about it all. Maybe after 5 minutes, 5 yawns, or 20 minutes, or 25 yawns. Maybe more. When it's done, take a break, don't start a new topic in the same session. Have a new session later when you feel like one. You can spend hundreds of hours doing these sessions--there is a lot of material that is available if you look for it.

"This is an introduction only, not a session. There are entire pre-recorded sessions at yawnguy.com, or you can build your own session from the different mp3 elements here. Enjoy your sessions!"
